Jarrett Hatcher, along with News Leader reporter Patrick Hite, gave a talk at the Augusta County (Va.) Library about their book, The Staunton Streak: Paul Hatcher’s Basketball Dynasty, which tells the story of Hatcher’s dad, the late Paul Hatcher ’66, and the record he set coaching the Staunton, Va., Robert E. Lee High School boys’ basketball team to 897 wins, including 85 wins in a row from 2003-2006.

Michael Varner was promoted to the position of Vice President at Interra Credit Union.
1998
David W. Craig transitioned to a civilian role in 2021, after a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Air Force. He continues his service as a weather forecaster at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, by providing mission-critical meteorological analysis and forecasting to support aircrews engaged in both local training and global operations. In recognition of his exceptional expertise, he was named the 2025 Civilian of the Year (Category II) for the 3rd Operations Support Squadron, 3rd Operations Group and the 3rd Wing. His contributions were further recognized at the major command and service-wide levels, earning him the prestigious titles of Pacific Air Forces and Air Force Weather Civilian of the Year (Category I) for 2025.

Karen Marshall Grady, a first grade teacher at A. R. Ware Elementary School in Staunton, Va., was named as a recipient of a Dawbarn Education Award.
Jesse C. Lohr Jr. was named the new Head Football Coach for Broadway High School in Broadway, Va.

Aaron C. Keebaugh started a new position as a staff writer for Total Baroque Magazine, a multi-language publication dedicated to Baroque musical history and the early music movement. He continues to write criticism and feature articles for several Boston-based and international magazines. His work has been featured in The Classical Review, Corymbus, Early Music America, Boston Musical Intelligencer, Arts Fuse and on BBC Radio 3.

Craig P. Flesher was named Supervisor of Health and Physical Education and VHSL Activities for Augusta County (Va.) Public Schools.
Jonathan D. Puvak was sworn in this year as President of the Roanoke Bar Association, according to the August edition of Virginia Lawyer, which is produced by the Virginia State Bar.
Hillary J. Sullivan earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in December 2025.

Brandon D. Mays was named the new Head Football Coach for Harrisonburg High School in Harrisonburg, Va.
Justin L. Smith was named the first Girls Head Basketball Coach at Hartwood High School in Fredericksburg, Va.

David S. Clements was named interim Police Chief for the Buena Vista (Va.) Police Department.
2008
Joshua F. Jones was selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who for expertise in physical therapy and is recognized for excellence as the owner and physiotherapist at Apollo Performance LLC based in Summit County, Colo.
Tripp Lamb III led Strasburg (Va.) High School to its first state football championship while also beating cancer.
Whitney L. Minnick was named the 2025 Young Professional of the Year by the Shenandoah County (Va.) Chamber of Commerce for her work with the American Cancer Society. Minnick was also the inaugural winner of the 2025 Nationwide Campus Relay for Life Staff Partner of the Year.
Scott Zittle and Elizabeth Zittle welcomed a child, William Silas Zittle, on April 25, 2025. The family resides in Waterford, Va.

Kristina Davis Oates and James F. Oates ’11 welcomed a child, Declán James Jefferson Oates, on December 18, 2025. The family resides in Rockingham, Va.
2013

Josh Law accepted a position on the Board of Directors of Happy Birthday America, the nonprofit and volunteer-led organization responsible for the Fourth of July festivities in Staunton, Va. He will continue his service as Uncle Sam and as the organization’s parade director. He and wife, Tiffany Toner Law ’14, also welcomed a child, Lainey Joanne Law, on November 26, 2025; the family resides in Stuarts Draft, Va.

Keith R. Thomas and Chelsea Thomas were married in 2021. They welcomed a child, Nolan Maxwell Thomas, on January 6, 2026. The family resides in Bridgewater, Va.

Marisa Sims Johnson and Alex Johnson welcomed a child, Hallie Paige Johnson, on January 16, 2026. The family resides in Centreville, Va.
Jon S. Wilson was named the 2026 VBODA (Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors’ Association) District 5 Music Educator of the Year.

Ryan Roeber Tenberg, in her first year of coaching, has led the Fort Defiance (Va.) girl’s tennis team to a 13-game winning streak and undefeated season as of the time of writing.
Freddie T. Watkins started a new position as Marketing Assistant at Foot Levelers, Inc.

Emily D. Wylie and Aidan Cruggs ’23 were married on September 27, 2025. The couple reside in Harrisonburg, Va. Other BC alumni in attendance were Joey Pellegrino ’21, Emma Nesselrodt ’24, Malena Hoover ’23, Ryan Tenberg ’24, Kaci Pitsenbarger ’23, Emily Daigneault ’23 and Eileen Waterhouse ’77.
