Bridgewater College’s Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Christine Carrillo, will perform at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, in Cole Hall on the College’s campus.
The concert will open with Tank! by Yoko Kanno with featured soloist Joseph Wampler, a junior biology major from Nokesville, Va., followed by I Got Rhythm by George and Ira Gershwin with featured performer Conrad Krytusa, a junior music major from Aldie, Va., on trombone.
Wampler, senior physics major Daniel Hancock of Ferrum, Va., and senior environmental science major Jacob Bentley of Elkton, Va., are the featured performers for the third piece, Jump by Wynton Marsalis.
When I Fall in Love by Victor Young will follow with Kevin Epps, a senior music major from Chesterfield, Va., as the soloist. Epps will join Kaila Page, a senior music major from Stanardsville, Va., and Luke Cronin, a junior music major from Lovettsville, Va., to perform The Pink Panther by Henry Mancini, then will join Nathan Sullivan, a first-year music major from Elkton, Va., for I’m Just a Lucky So and So by Duke Ellington.
Sunday’s performance will conclude with Buckjump by Troy Andrews and Mike Ballard. Sophomore music major Wyatt Smith from Bridgewater, Va., sophomore communication, technology and culture major Ortez Marshman of Washington, D.C., Bentley, Hancock and Epps are the featured performers for that piece.
The performance is free and open to the public. In keeping with guidance from the CDC, Bridgewater College requires that all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, properly wear face masks when indoors in public areas of campus.
