Research areas and specializations
Past research focused on competing narratives of urban high school reform, including issues of equity and power in the story of school change. Influenced heavily by the National Writing Project. Current research interests include the use of writing and action research in professional development for educators and preservice teachers. Writing partnerships and identity development of beginning teachers are always compelling topics of study.
Personal interests
I enjoy being outside as the seasons allow biking, kayaking, waterskiing and hiking. I appreciate spending time with family and friends and reading good novels and memoirs.
