In this new body of work, Barb Mowery breaks down the damage of being a frontline pandemic worker and surrenders to the internal gravity of her home life. The artist combines scientific knowledge about the universe with her own magical thinking about the human experience.

Young Stellar Objects will be showcased Wednesday, Oct. 4, through Wednesday, Nov. 1, in the Beverly Perdue Art Gallery located on the main level of the John Kenny Forrer Learning Commons.

The art exhibition will have an opening reception in the gallery from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 9, with an artist’s talk at 5:30 p.m.

The art exhibition, opening reception and artist’s talk are free and open to the public. The gallery is open from 7:30 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; and noon to midnight on Sunday.
