Art Exhibition: Michael Hough and the Great Alumni Exhibition

Hours: The gallery is open from 7:30 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; and noon to midnight on Sunday.
In honor of Associate Professor of Art Michael Hough’s retirement, this exhibition is a showcase of works by art alumni who Hough has taught and mentored throughout his 28 years at Bridgewater College. Paintings, drawings and photos will be hung salon style–meaning in close proximity and covering the gallery’s walls–with three-dimensional sculptures filling the floor.
As an artist, Hough focuses on ceramics, steel sculpture and pottery. He holds an M.A. in ceramics from California State University, Sacramento and an M.F.A from the Rhode Island School of Design.
Michael Hough and the Great Alumni Exhibition will be showcased Monday, Feb. 10, through Wednesday, March 19, in the Beverly Perdue Art Gallery located on the main level of the John Kenny Forrer Learning Commons. The art exhibition will have an opening reception in the gallery from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, with an artists’ talk at 5:30 p.m. An additional reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 7. The art exhibition, receptions and artists’ talk are free and open to the public.
