Financial Aid
Scholarship Resources
Financial Aid Office encourages students to do independent research and apply for outside scholarships. Please note that we do not endorse any particular site(s) and are unaware of their privacy standards.
Students pursuing the M.S. in Athletic Training degree who are residents of Virginia, may be eligible for the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) issued through the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV). For those that qualify, an eligibility application will be made available to you. Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) will only be available for your fall and spring semester term.
Employer Tuition Reimbursement
Students who enroll at BC may be eligible to receive assistance from their employer. The timing and amounts of payments depend on employer policy. Discuss assistance opportunities with your employer.
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan Program
A Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan is funded by ED and is available up to $20,500 per year. You must complete a yearly FAFSA at www.studentaid.gov for eligibility. Interest is fixed each year (currently at 7.94% for 2025-2026) and does accrue while borrowers are in school. Loan repayment begins after you cease at least half-time enrollment.
A financial aid package will be sent to students that are eligible for the Federal Direct Unsubsidized loan through the FAFSA completion. The financial aid package will list your maximum semester loan eligibility.
To be eligible to receive A Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan, you must:
- Be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
- File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Not be in default on prior educational loans.
- Enroll in at least 5 credit hours per term.
Alternative/Private Student Loans
Additional loan assistance may be available for students who need extra financing. Terms are often similar to the federal loans, but because they aren’t guaranteed by the government, interest and guarantee fees may be higher. Application for these loans include a review of your credit. Find additional information about private loans on our Options for Paying Educational Costs page.
