Showker Internship Award

Showker Leadership Project

Want to explore solutions to common problems?

Every participant in the project will receive a certificate upon completion. The winning team earns a prize of $3,000!

The Showker Leadership Project is a year-long project in which student leaders organize a team of peers to identify ways to improve the campus and local communities. Workshops will be held throughout the fall semester to help teams identify areas of improvement in the community, define an underlying issue, brainstorm solutions to that issue, use criteria to determine the best solution, and then develop a budget to enact that solution. All teams who complete this process will be given up to $500 to implement their plan, and in the spring will present their results. The presentations will be judged, with the winning team winning $3,000!

All members who complete the process will be awarded a Showker Leadership Certificate signifying their skills in leadership and problem solving. This is a great opportunity to develop marketable skills in teamwork and problem-solving while working to improve our community.
